Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner

Having curly hair means the perfect shampoo and conditioner is essential for me to not look like Chewbacca. This can often be really expensive and I feel like this is a problem for a lot of us ladies! I have recently been visiting the local Aldi store for my hair products though as you really can't beat the price, and I feel like I may have struck gold with this product. If you love Aussie hair products you will definitely love the Moisture shampoo and conditioner by Carino!

Firstly I'll talk about the packaging and how it is extremely similar to Aussie shampoo and conditioner, the colours, bottle itself and even the font used on the bottle! But more importantly than the packaging- the smell! It smells just as amazing as Aussie shampoo which is one of the reasons I love it so much. I honestly can not tell you how similar it smells, you would have to try it to believe it!

And finally, how it actually makes my hair feel. It really does keep my hair so moisturized which is a bit of a miracle seeing as curly hair does have a tenancy to be very dry. The conditioner really works wonders on dry and split ends.

I really can't believe you can get all of this for £1.99 a bottle! So so cheap compared to other well known brands, you really can't go wrong! Let me know what you think...

Tanning Tips With Baby B Browne

It's coming to the time of year now, where my gradual tanning lotion just doesn't cut it anymore. With the sun coming out and the summer months getting hotter I want to be able to wear shorts and skirts without looking like a pale zombie. Which is why I decided to take matters into my own hands and get a new fake tan! Baby B Browne tanning products have been something I have wanted to try for a while. The Irish brand is well known for their tanning products and so I thought it would be rude not to give them a try! I decided to go for the 250ml Self Tanning Lotion.

I was really impressed by the size of the bottle as it is a bit bigger than other brands I have seen in shops, and if tanning is something you do quite often, like me, then bigger bottles usually mean you get more for your money! Also, if you tan often you will know what I mean when I say you end up smell a bit like biscuits most of the time (not cool), but this tan smells like vanilla and is so refreshing against other tans I have used!

When I first put the tan onto the mitt I was a little apprehensive about the colour (it looks super dark) but actually, it goes on really nicely and actually made my skin look brown instead of orange, which is always a bonus! The only criticism I have is that I didn't get on with the mitt that came with the tan. Although it feels really lovely and soft, I just found it didn't rub the tan in as well as with a foam mitt, but that really is the only criticism I have because I really am so pleased with the product! Having been wearing it for a few days now, I can honestly say it has faded so evenly and hasn't gone streaky or patchy at all!

Here are my tanning tips to make sure my fake tan lasts as long as it has with Baby B Browne:
1. Hair removal should be done no less that 24 hours before tanning
2. Shower no less than half an hour before tanning
3. Tie your hair, especially with dyed or blonde hair. It is not cool to have brown stains.
4. EXFOLIATE- this is the most important one. I always make sure to exfoliate before I tan, and then daily in the shower on the elbows, knees, ankles and wrist areas. This will ensure your tan fades evenly. Seriously, no matter how good a fake tan you use, if you don't exfoliate you will look patchy.

Self Tanning Lotion: Baby B Browne

Overall, I really can't recommend this product enough, and at just £14,95 you really can't go wrong! Let me know what you think!

Monthly Favourites

I honestly can not believe how quickly these monthly favorites come round, the months are actually flying by and this year is going far too quickly! Here are a few products which have been my favorites this May.

A Pug's Etiquette: Any of you who know me will know that I absolutely love pugs. If I could have any dog it would definitely be a pug, they are just so cute and squishy and I love that they make little piggy snorting noises! This book was given to me a little while ago, however I recently re-discovered it, and I am so glad I did. It is full of funny little things that pugs do, with some cute little drawings too. I know this sounds totally geeky but adoncare (I don't care).
New Phone: Hallelujah, I have finally been able to upgrade to a better phone and for less money, which is fabulous!
Marc Jacobs, Daisy: So I have just started wearing this perfume and it is LUSH. So perfect for summer, it has a really floral smell to it and it lasts all day, so you will be smelling as fresh as a daisy, literally. If you like Chanel's Chance, I think you will definitely like this on, they are quite similar.
Summer Shoes: I have wanted a pair of white platform sandals for ages, and now that the weather is finally starting to get better I can actually start wearing these new ones! They go with almost anything, and I love the extra bit of height they give me. It makes me look a bit less like a child which is a bonus.
Brush On Perfecter: You may remember this from a previous post of mine, it is the Clarins Brush On Perfecter in shade 01. This has very quickly become one of my daily products and I actually don't know where I have been without it all this time! It is perfect for covering any dark circles and it gives a really nice dewy effect which brightens up your face a little.

What are your monthly favorites?

Galaxy Ombre Nails

Having a week off from interning has freed me up a lot of time, so I thought I would have a little me time and experiment with my nails. I have always wanted to give ombre nails a go so looked up a couple of tutorials and found such an easy way to do it, and using these colours gives it quite a cool galaxy effect. I thought I would share it with all of you, because I'm nice like that.

Things You Will Need:
Lilac Nail Polish- I am using Barry M's Berry Ice Cream
Light Blue Nail Polish- I'm using Barry M's Cobalt Blue
Dark Blue Nail Varnish- This is one I bought on holiday from a random stall, but this is a similar one.
Top Coat
Nail Polish Remover
A Section of a Make Up Sponge
Cotton Buds

Start with clean nails and apply a base coat if you so wish (I didn't as I don't think it actually does any favours in keeping the nail polish on and the colour is so light I know it won't stain my nails). Then apply two coats of your chosen base colour, in this case the lilac.

Then get the section of your makeup sponge and fold it in half to create a kind of roll, holding this in place just paint generous strips of your chosen three colours onto the sponge. Make sure the colours overlap slightly as this makes them blend slightly better. Then place the sponge onto your finger nail and create a kind of dabbing motion to ensure your whole nail is covered. Repeat this on each finger.

As you can see, this creates a huge amount of mess, which for a neat freak like myself is hell to look at. But it can be fixed in no time! Take your cotton bud and dip it into your nail polish remover, then just go around the edges of your nails to tidy up any unwanted mess on your cuticles.

Ta daaaah! Now I would just finish off by sealing it all in with a top coat, but this is only to your preference. The great thing about this easy trick is that the possibilities are endless, you can make as many colour combinations as you wish, and I would love to see some of your creations!

Give Your Hair A Treat

If there ever was a product that makes your hair look like it's had a day at the spa, its this one! Neal's Yard products are always a favorite of mine (not my purse's though) and this product has been faithful to me for may years. For any of you out there with dry/damaged or curly hair that has a tenancy to being both of these things, this will be the answer to all of your woes! It does smell slightly funky, but it is so so good for your hair!

As you can see from the second picture, it comes in a hard kind of crystal form which when rubbed between your hands completely turns to liquid. You should apply this to your hair, dry, as much as you like, depending on your hair. I usually use quite a lot, however avoid applying it to my fringe and roots. You should then leave this for at least 30 minutes, I usually put it on before bed and leave it on all night (make sure you lay your head on a towel if you do this). Once you are ready to wash it out, just use your normal shampoo in the shower and then leave it to dry naturally. There is no need to use conditioner after washing it out, the hair mask will condition your hair for you!

Eyes Uncovered

Happy bank holiday everyone, I hope you have all enjoyed the extra weekend day, I know I have! This is just a quick little post about something I picked up at the supermarket earlier (yes I know tragic times buying makeup from a supermarket but it's not supermarket brand so its not that bad)! When I saw this palette I couldn't not buy it because I love love love neutral colours and I have been looking for a brown/cream palette for ages! It was also so so cheap, I will link it below.

I love the selection of colours, and while I know is it no Naked 2 palette, its pretty good value for money and great for every day makeup for those on a budget (which is definitely me). The texture of the eye shadow is very powdery so I would definitely recommend wearing an eye primer or cream underneath it. But overall I am quite pleased with it and I definitely think I will get a lot of wear out of it!

Palette: Collection
This isn't a great picture but it's just to show you the different colours, I think I will definitely get the most wear out of 'Buttercream', 'Chocolate Milk' and 'Brown Sugar'.

Hi Frizz Head
What's you favorite eye shadow palette at the moment?

Clarins Instant Beauty Essentials

When my mum brought me the Clarins Instant Beauty Essentials kit back from her holiday I think it was safe to say I was a little over excited. I actually couldn't wait to try everything because I absolutely love Clarins makeup, and I was not disappointed! In the kit was 1 Instant Lip Perfecter in Apricot Shimmer (perfect perfect colour), an Instant Light Brush-On Perfecter in 01, and a Wonder Perfect Mascara in Wonder Black. These products alone make a perfect survival kit if you were ever going on a long journey or can't take much makeup with you.

Okay, so the things I love about this kit (there are so many): The Lip Perfecter is a really lovely natural colour and just makes your lips looks so nice and shiny (see below), and it is not sticky at all! I always have a bit of a fear when it comes to lip glosses because I find they are always so heavy and sticky, but this one is just perfect for day-to-day wear. The highlighter is also really nice and light. Unlike some other concealers and highlighters which I find are so heavy they actually create lines in my skin (not cool). And finally, the wonderful mascara, again not too heavy, and it really does add length to your lashes! The only thing I would say is that if you are looking for a mascara to thicken your lashes, this may not be for you.

I would definitely say this set is great for day-to-day wear as it is all so light and natural. I am very pleased with all three products and would definitely recommend them separately and as a set to anyone. Let me know what you think!

* This item was from duty free and I unfortunately can not find the set anywhere online

Born Lippy

Seeing as I am on a big of a lippy binge at the moment, I thought it would be good to do a little post on the best car for your lips. Especially as it is coming up to summer and caring for your skin and lips is crucial in the hot weather! I'm not one of 'those people' who buy the most expensive products or know all the tricks of the trade to getting better lips and skin, I just find products I like and buy them again. A product I have been absolutely loving at the moment is Body Shop's Born Lippy range. Not only does every single flavor smell simply delicious, but they are also so good for your lips (and they taste good too)!

They are so moisturizing and although it looks like they are coloured, they actually just come out clear and make your lips look glossy which is a plus! I also tend to use these over the top of some of my dryer lipsticks to make them stay on longer (that's a life hack right there). Also, they are not petroleum based which is great in the summer, because products like Vaseline actually fry your lips more in the sun, I actually can't stress enough how much you shouldn't wear Vaseline in the sun!

Trust me ladies, I have tried every lip product under the sun, and these are by far my go-to at the moment. They smell great, are so good for your lips, and they aren't particularly expensive either!
Let me know what you think!

Top Five Lipsticks

My lipstick collection seems to be growing more and more all the time (I am such a lipstick hoarder)! Any brand, any colour, any type, I will give it a try, which has lead to me building up a rather large collection, many of which I never actually wear. So here are my top five lip colours from my collection.

1. MAC- Media
This was my first ever MAC lipstick, and oh how they are right about your first love being the best. I wear this baby all the time and I love the dark purple/maroon colour it gives. It's also great to get more than one colour from; you can do a light layer and get a pinky purple or go slightly heavier for a deeper purple/almost black! The only problem I have with this is that it is a satin finish, and I find it can dry my lips out a little and I have to be careful the colour doesn't crack on my lips. But overall, a great lippy!

2. Clinique- 14 Curvy Candy
I love this lipstick (it's more of a lip colour actually). It is so moisturizing and light to wear and it gives a really subtle pink tone to your lips, so it's perfect for casual wear. It also lasts a really long time!

3. Dior- 769 Addict
Although I don't actually wear this very often, it is definitely one of my favorites. It gives such a bright and vibrant pink and is perfect for evening wear. It is also so moisturizing and it lasts forever as it literally never dries up!

4. MAC- Rebel
This is a lippy you will probably have seen in a few of my posts as I wear it so often. It is very similar to Media (1), however it is slightly lighter and much more purple. Even though this one is also a satin finish, it doesn't dry my lips as much, however I do have reapply it quite often, but it is still one of my faves for the colour.

5. YSL- 56
You may remember this one from a previous post of mine. I think every girl should have a red lipstick, it is definitely a necessity! And this one is my 'one'. It isn't the deepest of reds which I like because I feel like I can wear it with more, but it is really shiny and you can definitely tell the quality is good from the way it stays on for hours. It is so smooth and soft, I actually can't recommend it enough! I would definitely like to get a lip liner to go with it though, just to make it a little more vivid.

What are your favorite lipsticks?

Dem Brows

Now that I seem to have found the three perfect eyebrow products (for me anyway) I thought I'd share my little routine with you and maybe enlighten you to some new products. Eyebrows seem to have become increasingly important to me, to the point that I can't go anywhere without them (literally, I have minimal hair on my brows), if I leave the house without drawing them on I look like a potato (not cool). So here we go...

So I have found that a combination of the three above products are ideal for me (as you can tell they are all very much loved products). I firstly use the lighter brown pencil (the one with the brush) and brush out my eye brows and then outline them in this, using it mainly on the parts of my brow that actually hair hair. The I fill in the rest with the darker pencil making sure it all blends in to be the same colour. I then usually neaten up the under part of my eyebrows with a touch up of foundation, and then use the medium brown colour in the palette (bottom left) with an angle brush and just make the outline a bit sharper.

As you can see there is a small difference in colour between the two pencils (the lighter one being the one with the brush), this allowing me to colour the parts of my brown with no hair a little darker.

Light Pencil: Rimmel, £2.99 in Hazel 2
Dark Pencil:Collection, £2.79 in Brown 2
Palette: £3.99, High Brow Kit

All the products I have used are available in Superdrug and are all very cheap which is a massive bonus (see details above). And remember girls; Don't let anyone with bad eyebrows tell you sh*t about life.
